ACQUISITIONS BY MUSEUMS OF FRANCE – “CHANDOISEAUX I & II” – PERMANENT COLLECTION OF MUSEUM OF TRADITIONS AND NORMAN ARTS – Martainville Castle – Seine-Maritime – Normandy – France
In September 2025, the acquisition committee of the Museums of France issued a favorable opinion on the acquisition of the artworks, “Les Chandoiseaux I and II,” by ceramic sculptor Florence Lemiegre. They are now part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Traditions and Norman Arts at the Martainville castle in Seine-Maritime.

Contemporary ceramic sculptures by Florence Lemiegre
These two sculptures, which resonate directly with the museum’s historical collections, wonderfully weave together the links between Norman heritage and contemporary creation. They establish historical, technical, and aesthetic relationships that dialogue with each other.
They can be discovered in the heart of the Régence room during museum visits.

” Les Chandoiseaux I and II“ were created especially for the exhibition ”Le beau geste” – The Beautiful Gesture, presented from April 26 to September 28, 2025, at the Museum of Traditions and Norman Arts. An invitation to rediscover the museum’s historical collections through the lens of contemporary artists and artisans. A cultural event initiated by the museum’s director, Caroline Louet.
