Graphic and playful research work on balance and imbalance.

Forms and clean lines, these often monostatic pieces oscillate, sway, hesitate before finding an anchor point. Through them the artist explores imbalance and balance, instability and stability, strength and fragility. It is also a dreamlike symbolization of transmission to others, to the youngest, to our children. How to find your own paths, free your imagination, your creativity, accept your identity and enrich yourself with difference. It is the doubts, the questions, the cracks, the fears, the joys, the laughter, the balance and the imbalance, the stability and the instability that forge and structure the human being.

The little “Culbutos” that we discover in the work “Culbutos – Serendipity” are all new destinies that take flight towards life, to the sound of a silent and interior melody. Each one being accompanied by the “Culbutos-Mères” in this discovery of Life, and linked in a dreamlike way by an umbilical cord which is here represented by piano strings.

A little history :

Created in 1903, at the Petit Palais in Paris, by a few friends in reaction to the reigning academicism, the Salon d’Automne has established itself as an actor and essential witness to the emergence of the most important artistic movements of the 20th century, Fauvism, Surrealism, Cubism, Abstract Art, New Figuration, Singular Art etc. It is in the basements of the Petit Palais, in reaction to the reigning academicism, that some friends, gathered around the architect Frantz Jourdain, Guimard, Carrière, Desvallières, Bonnard, Rouault, Vallotton, Vuillard, Matisse, and so many others decided to organize an independent exhibition, in order to promote the avant-garde and innovative minds of their time. Instigator of multidisciplinarity and equality in the arts, the Salon d’Automne was born.

Thanks to five generations of artists, faithful to its original ethic, who have volunteered to serve its committee, the Salon d’Automne continues its generous action in favor of artistic creation in all its forms. Recognized in the public interest since 1920, the Salon d’Automne company is supported by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. Its ambition, statutorily, is to encourage and develop the arts in all its manifestations and particularly through exhibitions both in France and abroad.
